Minor Bantam Jr. Attack Firefighters grab 3 of 4
A great start to the season for the Minor Bantam Jr. Attack Firefighters, as they grabbed 3 of 4 points on the road on this past weekend.

They played a tough Burlington team on Saturday and grabbed a single point with a 2-2 tie. Kurt Long opened the scoring early in the 1st, assisted by Damien Sutton and Nathaniel (Scooter) Dodd, which held up until the 7 minute mark of the 2nd when the Burlington squad tied it up. Burlington then went ahead early in the 3rd, but only 19 seconds later Scooter Dodd put the round Disc behind the Burlington Goalie, assisted by Andrew Lavergne which tied it up and that is how game one ended. Attack goalie Mac Kuglin went the distance in net stopping 18 of 20 shots and held his team in it, making some big saves throughout the game.

On Sunday the boys traveled to Guelph and came away on top with a 4-1 win. Scooter Dodd had a pair on the day and added 1 assist, while Damien Sutton had 1 marker with 2 helpers. Kurt Long rounded out the scoring. Noah Solinger added an assist. The Jr. Attack squad led the whole way despite playing short handed as we were down 1 forward and 2 Defensemen on the day. All the boys stepped it up, dug deep, and played a great 2 way game to preserve the win. Reese Pettigrew had a strong game in goal posting the win stopping 24 shots and held his squad in the game stopping all 12 shots he faced in the 3rd, when they ran into some penatly trouble.

Overall, the boys showed some great offense, stellar Defense, and solid Goaltending on opening weekend and were able to grab 3 of 4 points on the road.
