Why Respect in Sport is Essential
The "Respect in Sport" program is a critical component in promoting respect, safety, and inclusion within the hockey community. This mandatory training educates parents about the importance of fostering a positive environment both on and off the ice. By completing this certification, parents demonstrate their commitment to the values of sportsmanship, respect, and safety that are fundamental to the development of young players.
Mandatory Certification
The Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) has mandated that at least one parent of every child participating in minor hockey must complete the "Respect in Sport - Parent Program." This certification is a prerequisite for player participation and must be completed prior to the first skate. The cost of the course is $12.
