Owen Sound Minor Hockey currently has over 600 children participating. We offer 5 levels of hockey:
#1) Junior Development (ages 3-7)
#2) Non-Body contact house league.
#3) Non-Body contact Local League (for 2016 we will be playing in the WOAA loop)

Junior Development (ages 3-7) :
Preschool Program (age of 3 by Sept.1st)
- Beginner program introduces your child to the hockey FUNdamentals in a positive and engaging environment. Our coaches teach children the basics of skating skills using toys, music, and games.
- Ice Time -> Oct-Dec (1 x 30 min. session per week) , Jan-Mar (1 x 50 min. session per week)
- If your child cannot stand on their own, we encourage parents to be on the ice to assist the coaches.
Initiation Program (5 - 6 yrs)
- Introduces your child to the core skills of skating, passing, puck control and shooting in a positive fun environment.
- Ice Time -> Oct-Mar ( 2 x 50 min. sessions per week) , Jan-Mar (teams will participate in 1-2 local Jamborees)
- Special power skating & Ice Magic sessions are integrated throughout the season during regular ice times.
- Practice drills and modified games will be played using cross-ice format

Tyke (7 yrs)
- Provides continued focus on developing individual core skills and confidence
- Introduction and emphasis on teamwork

- Special power skating & Ice Magic sessions are integrated throughout the season during regular ice times.

House League - Non-Body Contact:
Our House League Program runs from October 01 to March 31st. Our HL program will run in 2016-17 for children born in 2009 - 2012 and for Midget age players (1998 - 2001). Children aged 5 to 7will also be provided a series of power skating classes. Our house league program is managed by the 2nd vice president for contact numbers please view our contact page.
Local League - Non Body Contact
Our local league program runs from October 1st until mid to late March depending on playoffs. Local league will be offered in Novice thru bantam divisions.
Additional Entry
Our Additional Entry teams are selected after the rep team try outs. Their tryouts normally commence towards the end of September. We offer teams in Novice, Atom, Pee-Wee, Bantam & Midget. Our "AE" teams participate in the Georgian Bay League. Each team will have a designated team budget. In the past these budgets have ranged from $50 to $150 per month per player. Representative
Representative Hockey is the most compettive level in our system. Tryouts commence in Mid September. We offer the following teams Novice, Minor Atom, Atom, Minor Pee-Wee, Pee-Wee, Minor Bantam, Bantam, Minor Midget, Midget & Juvenille. The Minor Bantam, Minor Midgets & Midgets play in the Tri-County League the balance of the teams play in Group A of the Georgian Bay League.
Team budgets normally range between $75 - $150 per month.
