Major PeeWees 1 and 1 to Start OMHA’s
Hard physical play, commitment, team work, short shifts, solid defence and steady goaltending was the formula for success for the Owen Sound Harold Sutherland Construction Major Peewee’s as they started the OMHA title run vs Guelph on Saturday.

Both sides traded scoring chances and open ice hits in a very tight clean checking game until Guelph scored first.  Owen Sound appeared unable to counter until Brady Brown took a pass from behind the net and put the puck past the Guelph goalie with less than a minute left in the third period forcing the game into Overtime.  Assists went to Kurt Long and Tyson Wilkins. The victory was sealed early in OT when Tyson Wilkins jabbed the loose puck into the Guelph goal as the crowd erupted in cheers. Assists went to Tanner Prior and Jordan Lawrence.  Reese Pettigrew was almost perfect in net stopping 23 of 24 shots for the victory. The physical play was lead by Cody Liske who played more like Chris Neil.  Must have been the Mean Pills he ate prior to the game.

On Sunday the team played in Burlington against the Eagles who they have beaten twice before.  Although the effort was there the team was not able to continue with the same level of commitment as shown vs Guelph and were forced to ride the bus back to Owen Sound without having scored a single goal in a 3 - 0 loss.

Back in Guelph on Saturday the 21st, then at home vs Burlington on Sunday.  Let’s get it done boys.
