Road Woes in Movember
Goodbye November!   After going 2 and 7 in November with only one home game both players and parents are going to enjoy what we all hope will be a great weekend with three home games next weekend to start December.

This last weekend saw the team drop 3 road games in 3 consecutive nights losing to Hespeler, Flamborough and Oakville.

The large ice game was a distinct advantage for Hespeler on Friday as Owen Sound was unable to score allowing 4 goals while spending 24 of 40 minutes shorthanded.  Reese Pettigrew stopped 27 shots in the loss.

Hockey night in Flamborough was expected to be more productive as this was a weaker team if one believes the statistics.  Perhaps the boys were distracted by the very loud fan who spent 40 minutes yelling to each home player and calling them by name.  Unfortunately the team lost a very close game with both goalies making several breakaway saves. Tanner Prior scored the only Owen Sound goal assisted by Tyson Wilkins.  Ryan Winters allowed 2 goals on 24 shots.

The third road game of the weekend was a highly anticipated match up vs Oakville who is currently holding top spot in the league.  Most teams find a way to elevate their game when playing against strong teams and Owen Sound is no different having beat Burlington in Burlington way back in October.  After surrendering a first period goal Tyson Wilkins scored in the second period to tie the game at ones.  The lone assist went to Logan McComb.  Owen Sound had several quality scoring opportunities but failing to capitalize again.  The home ice bounces then started to work for Oakville as they scored 3 unanswered 3rd period goals stealing the victory 4 goals to 1.  Reese Pettigrew played a very strong game robbing Oakville players of several sure goals stopping 30 shots in the loss.

Roll on December.
