Gaviller & Company Bantams in OMHA Semi Finals
All I can say is WOW and what a team effort this weekend Boys. The Gaviller & Company Bantams are 1 of 4 teams left in Ontario playing for the Bantam "A" OMHA Championship. What an accomplishment for this group of young men and they are not done yet!!.
After Thursdays 5-2 loss, and being down in the series some teams would fold like a cheap tent and pack their bags for next season saying it is over, however this group of determined young men didn't quit. Call them the come back kids or call them what you like, but they all showed heart, determination, and a never say never attitude all the way through the playoffs. They did it against 2nd place Hespeler beating them in a thriller game 6 of the Round Robin to move on. Then they did it again after being down 1 game to 6th place Woolwich, they beat them twice to move into the Quarter Finals. And well they did it one more time beating 4th place Burlington, just proving what the Coaching Staff have known when they put this team together, that when these boys play the game hard and as a team, they are a very tough opponent to beat.
After being down 2-1 against Burlington and needing back to back wins, our boys outscored the Burlington Eagles 11-5 in 2 games over this past weekend, including a 5-1 thumping of the Eagles Sunday evening in Burlington to win the best of 5 OMHA Quarter Final Series, 3 games to 2 and will now meet Amherstburg in the best of 5 OMHA Semi Final series commencing this coming weekend in Amherstburg.
Our home page has a saying on it, which has been there from day 1, "BE BETTER EVERYDAY". Well you have all shown that and continue to show that. You should all be extremely proud of how far you have come this season, and oh yes, you are not done yet. You have an OMHA Semi Final Series coming at you. Whooooahhhhhhh!!!!!! Go get em boys...
