Tykes roar to four
The Owen Sound Jr. Attack Tykes continue to roll.
The Tykes extended their winning streak to four games with a 4-3 road victory over the Honeywood Hurricanes in Georgian Bay Minor Hockey League action Wednesday night.

Brett Warrilow found the back of the net twice and added an assist and Kashias Keeshig and Markus Granjar-Ptok added singles in the win, which propelled Owen Sound into sole possession of second place with a 4-3-1 record.

Bryce Martin contributed two assists, while Callum Stata and Cody Cox each added one helper.

“The team played really well again tonight… every time we step out on the ice we get better,” said Jr. Attack head coach Rob Martin, whose team now holds a 2-0 lead in the season series with Honeywood after collecting a 5-4 win last month. “We played a good team game and our passing was also great. And we finally started using our breakout that we have been practicing all year, which resulted in two nice goals.”

Goaltender Myles Playter, who was unflappable during a crucial 5-on-3 penalty kill in the third period, earned the win.

“Myles made a couple game-changing saves and the team as a whole did an amazing job of killing off penalties, considering we haven’t practiced our penalty kill this season,” said Martin.

The Jr. Attack Tykes will strive for five when they host Honeywood in the back end of a home-and-home series this Saturday. Puck drop at the Bayshore is slated for noon.
