Registration is Open
Registration for the 2017-18 season is now open.  Please make sure to continue reading before processing your registration.

Last season was a huge change to the traditional programs being offered by OSMHG.

This was necessary due to the decline in the number of children in our area participating in hockey.  The switch to Local League hockey instead of in-house house league hockey went better than expected and most have been very positive regarding the change.  We also ran an additional entry rep team in four divisions which we haven't been able to do for a number of years.

We knew as an executive last year, the cost to run a local league hockey program was going to be more than our traditional in-house hockey however we held the line on any increases for the 2016-17 season.  We wanted to experience the new programs for a season first before introducing any cost increases.  It is estimated our costs to run all the programs last year increased by approximately $40,000.  At the end of last season, the association went through a very detailed cost analysis in order to set the registration fees for the 2017-18 season.

In order to help offset the increased costs this season for our initiation thru bantam house league programs, each player will be given 25 raffle tickets that they can sell at $5/ea allowing the participant to recoup $125 of their fees.  All funds from tickets sold are kept by the participant.  During December there will be daily and special draws where the estimated prize pool of $5,000 will be won!

We encourage you to register online a.s.a.p. By doing so, you are able to spread your payments over several months whether you choose to pay by credit card or cheque.  If payment is made by credit card, all installments are handled automatically by the registration software.  If you live outside the city of Owen Sound t is very important to purchase your non resident card from City Hall before beginning the registration.  You will need to supply this number during the registration process.  More information about non-res cards can be found [here]

Players who have made a representative team during spring tryouts (A, AE and MD) will continue to register online, however no payment will be made at the time of registration.  Instead the complete cost will be billed to the representative team payable in installments.  Previously part of the costs would be paid through registration and part through a rep surcharge billed to the team.  The benefit of this to the family is that they will have one installment plan to pay to the team instead of paying one to the team and one to the association.

Pay special attention when completing the registration that you select the correct registration package when presented to you.  Each division may have a different cost associated to it, so it will make adjustments more difficult.

Crescent Athletic Club
The Crescent Athletic Club of Owen Sound, Ontario was envisioned and founded in 1920 by like-minded sportsmen as a viable way to bind interests, commitments and the continuance of minor sports teams in the community. Historically a not-for-profit men's organization with the aim to support local athletic teams. Today the club functions in much the same way it was originally fashioned. A place for members to meet and greet in the club rooms for drinks, camaraderie and some gifted gab. Club banquets and sports events like golf, darts and curling tournaments generate proceeds to help keep the club running and to raise donation funds for minor sports teams in Owen Sound when it is possible to do so. 2022 was a historic year as the Crescent Athletic Club celebrated 102 years.
