Coach 2 Clinic
Owen Sound Minor Hockey is hosting a Coach 2 Coach Level Clinic on Saturday September 24th, 2016.

Coach 2 - Coach Level

Coach 2 - Coach Level is designed for coaches working with players at the recreational level. The clinic is a one day event. Participants will be presented with learning opportunities in both classroom and on-ice settings. Approximately 6 hours of in class will be supplemented with a 2 hour on ice session to cover these key topics:

  • Long Term Player Development

  • Practice Planning

  • Communication

  • Teaching Techniques

  • Preparing for game day

  • Team Tactics Intro

  • The Goalie Coach

  • SAGs & Decision Training

Prior to taking the in class Coach Level clinic participants must register for and complete the online Hockey University Community Coach Stream.

Working Together to Make A Safer Community The City of Owen Sound can indeed be very proud of their dedicated group of professional fire fighters, who have a history of more than 150 years of service. The department has 26 full time Firefighters, 1 full time Training Officer, and 2 full time Fire Prevention Professionals. Owen Sound is a 911 Community.
Crescent Athletic Club
The Crescent Athletic Club of Owen Sound, Ontario was envisioned and founded in 1920 by like-minded sportsmen as a viable way to bind interests, commitments and the continuance of minor sports teams in the community. Historically a not-for-profit men's organization with the aim to support local athletic teams. Today the club functions in much the same way it was originally fashioned. A place for members to meet and greet in the club rooms for drinks, camaraderie and some gifted gab. Club banquets and sports events like golf, darts and curling tournaments generate proceeds to help keep the club running and to raise donation funds for minor sports teams in Owen Sound when it is possible to do so. 2022 was a historic year as the Crescent Athletic Club celebrated 102 years.
