Congratulations to the Scotiabank Novice Local League team for capturing the WOAA Championship!
On behalf of our coaches, managers and parents, we want to congratulate the Scotiabank Novice Local League team for winning the WOAA championship on the weekend.
This special group of kids had an outstanding year going 11-2-2 in the regular season. After going 5-0 in the round robin playoff, our team won a hard fought 2 out of 3 series against a very tough Arran Elderslie Ice Dogs team to capture the first Novice WOAA championship for Owen Sound since 2012.
More importantly than the record, these kids had a great first real season of hockey. Our team motto was to try our best, no rough stuff, and above all else, have fun. The kids took this to heart, and brought their best effort to both practices and games alike. Judging by the constant smiles throughout the year, it is fair to say that our kids had a great deal of fun from start to finish. We learned a lot about being good teammates, and developed friendships that will last a lifetime.
Special thanks to everyone that helped out and contributed to a great season.
Congratulation boys - you should be very proud of what you have accomplished!
