Three Local League Teams in Championships
Congratulations to all of the Local League teams on their successful seasons. For the Scotiabank Novice, McDonalds Atom Red and the Meridian Midget teams, they advanced and are currently competing in league championships!
The Scotiabank Novice team finished with an outstanding 19-2-3 record finishing in 2nd place in the North division. After winning all of their games in the round robin, they are currently playing Arran-Elderslie in a best of 3 matchup in which they are winning the series 1-0. Game #2 is set to take place Fri March 22nd in Tara.
The McDonalds Atom Red team completed the season with a respectable 11-14 record and tied Chatsworth in the Builders division going 5-1 in the round robin. They are now competing in a best of 3 series and are up 1 game to 0 over TCDMHA. The next game in the series is set for Thurs March 21st at the Julie McArthur arena with the puck drop set to happen at 6:30pm.
The Meridian Midget team finished middle of the pack in the regular season with a record of 10-8-2. After a six game round robin, the team came out on top of the standings with 10 points and a 4-0-2 record. They defeated Stayner in a best of 3 semi-final series and are now leading the best of 3 Pool B championship series 1-0 over Collingwood 3. Their next match is in Collingwood on March 23rd.
