Major atoms in league final
The Owen Sound Leeder and Associates Junior Attack major atoms are moving onto the Tri County Minor Hockey League finals against the Burlington Eagles after winning the final two games of their round-robin playoffs on the weekend.

On Friday in Hespeler, Owen Sound needed a win against the Shamrocks, who were sitting in first place in the pool with a 5-0 record.
Owen Sound was penalized early after being assessed a 5-minute major penalty in the first and Hespeler took advantage by scoring the first goal of the game.
But The Junior Attack came right back and tied it up when Cole Gowan scored on a delayed penalty call.
Cole Gowan netted his second of the game to put Owen Sound up 2-1 and the Junior Attack held on for the win.
With the win, it gave the Junior Attack the tiebreaker over Hespeler as long as the Junior Attack won on Sunday against the Halton Hills Thunder.
On Sunday at the Lumley Bayshore the Junior Attack came out flying, but couldn't solve the Thunder goalie early on.
Elliot Thomson finally potted one and it got things rolling for the Junior Attack as they went on to score five more and grab the 6-0 win.
Owen Sound's offence was led by Sam Barrett who scored two, while Cole Gowan, Curtis Arnold and Eric Barnard added singles.
Noah Hemstock picked up the shutout in the Owen Sound goal.
