Minor peewees crowned champs in Barrie
The Owen Sound Garb and Gear Junior Attack captured gold at the Barrie Canadian Tire Classic Tournament on the weekend.

The minor peewees were a perfect 6-0 over the weekend.
In the final Sunday, Owen Sound downed the Russell Warriors 3-1.
Cole Gowan, Elliot Thomson, and Curtis Arnold scored.
In the semifinal earlier Sunday, Owen Sound beat the Whitby Wildcats 10-2.
Curtis Arnold scored four, Carter Moran scored two and Cole Gowan, Landen Humphries, Elliot Thomson and Tyson Morrison added singles.
In round robin play Saturday afternoon, Owen Sound beat the Port Perry Predators 4-2.
Hunter McMillan, Jacob Duncan, Carter Moran and Owen Prior scored.
Saturday morning Owen Sound beat the Burlington Eagles 3-0.
Noah Hemstock had the shutout, while Curtis Arnold, Cole Gowan and Elliot Thomson scored.
Friday afternoon Owen Sound beat Whitby 2-1.
Jacob Duncan and Curtis Arnold scored.
Owen Sound downed the Barrie Colts 3-1 to open the tourney.
Carter Moran, Cole Gowan and Landen Humphries scored.
The team worked like a well-oiled machine all weekend long and dug deep when it mattered most, despite playing six games in three days.
Strong defence by Calder Adams, Jesse Walker, Tyson Downs, Jacob Thornley and some big saves by goalie Noah Hemstock gave the opposition's offence fits, while the forward lines of Curtis Arnold-Owen Prior-Carter Moran, Jacob Duncan-Elliot Thomson-Hunter McMillan, and Landen Humphries-Tyson Morrison-Cole Gowan were all clicking on offence.
Kudos to the team management of coaches Chris Downs and Steve Arnold, trainer Murray Prior, and managers Jen and Jeff Morrison.
And once again the fans were loud and proud in the stands.
