Cub Academy Registration Now Open for U8, U9 & U11 Local League Players!
Owen Sound Minor Hockey is thrilled to announce the return of Cub Academy, an exciting program focused on building hockey foundations for our young athletes. With tailored coaching, dedicated ice time, and a supportive environment, Cub Academy is the perfect place for U8, U9 and U11 Local League players to develop their skills and confidence on the ice.

What is Cub Academy?

Cub Academy is more than just practice; it’s a foundational skill-building program that focuses on the essential techniques and tactics every young player needs. Open to all U8, U9 and U11 Local League players, the program aims to foster both individual growth and team spirit, creating a pathway for players to reach their goals—whether in competitive hockey or recreational play.

Key Benefits:

  • Skill Development: From skating to puck control and shooting, players receive focused coaching on the fundamentals of hockey.
  • Preparation for Success: Through a mix of individual and team tactics, Cub Academy provides a solid foundation to help players excel on the ice.
  • Strengthening Our Hockey Community: The program contributes to the overall strength of Owen Sound Minor Hockey by creating a supportive environment for players to thrive.

  • U8:
    • Thursday mornings (biweekly)
    • Start Date: November 7 | Time: 6:30-7:30 AM | Instructor: Jeff MacDermid
    • Location: Rec Centre | Cost: $50
  • U9:
    • Monday mornings (weekly)
    • Start Date: November 4 | Time: 6:30-7:30 AM | Instructor: Tim Nicol
    • Location: Rec Centre | Cost: $50
  • U11:
    • Wednesday mornings (weekly)
    • Start Date: November 6 | Time: 6:30-7:30 AM | Instructor: Mike Majury
    • Location: Rec Centre | Cost: $50
