Owen Sound Jr. Attack Crescent Club Major Midgets to an OHMA semi-final series opening 4-3 win over the Amherstburg Stars Friday night at the Bayshore Community Centre
John Morris also scored twice and Tanner Bastien added a single for Owen Sound, while Dylan Carder (2), Chris Baker, Josh Bumstead and Lauchlin Elder contributed the assists.
Brandon Vanderschot earned the win between the pipes.
Eric Shaw, Mike Popel and Greg Fera replied for Amherstburg, while Matt Rosati, Duncan Scott, Blaine Bechard, Frank Desjardins, Tyler Morand and Popel chipped in with helpers.
Game 2 is scheduled for today (March 3) at the Bayshore. Puck drop is slated for 1 p.m.
The winner of this best-of-five series will earn a berth in the OMHA championship versus either Quinte West and Markham/Unionville. That semi-final series begins today.
