Success at Hespeler Tourney
Success can be measured in many ways and if the past 5 games in three days are used as the stick, the Doug Cameron's Owen Sound Hyundai Attack PeeWee AE team can measure up against many of the other PeeWee AE teams in the province.

The team played 4 different opponents over the 5 game tournament starting with a strong effort vs. Amherstburg winning 9 to 2.  Scooter Dodd, Trent Duncan and Alex MacNeil each scored twice while Dustin Lantz, Brad Bishop and Nick Kazarian each tallied once.  Nick Kazarian was awarded player of the game for his 200 foot play.

Game two pitted the team against Oakridge where the team came up just short in a 7 to 5 loss, with 2 goals for Trent Duncan, and one a piece for Nick Kazarian, Scooter Dodd and Bradley Bishop.  Alex MacNeil was the player of the game with two assists.

The third game was played against a much stronger opponent from Stoney Creek where the team lost 7 to 0.  The hat for player of the game went to Scooter Dodd for a strong effort punishing the opponents physically with several hard hits.

The 4th game was played against the home team of Hespeler and proved the most exciting game of the tourney.  Owen Sound came out flying with Nick Kazarian and Nathaniel Lowden scoring while Goalie Brendan Lumley made save after save.  Hespeler answer with two goals to tie the game in the second period.  The entire team continued to battle at both ends and were rewarded when Alex MacNeil scored late in the third tapping in a pass from Nick Kazarian.  Protecting the lead by clearing the puck and the players forcefully from our end and working the puck deep in the Hespeler end while fore checking hard sealed the win for the good guys. The player of the game was Goalie Bandon Lumley who stopped 40 shots to back stop the team to it's second win of the tourney and a berth in the Bronze Medal game the next day once again against Hespeler!

A Bronze Medal was, however, not to be as the comfort of sleeping in their own beds must have rested the Hespeler legs as Owen Sound ran out of gas and, despite several quality scoring opportunities, lost 5 to 0 to the home town team.  Bradley Bishop collected the 5th Player of the Game hat after a strong effort this tourney.

In summary, a great time had by all.  Great hockey, great times and great memories, just what minor hockey is all about!
