2023-24 Player/Parent Feedback Survey Results

Purpose

During the 2023-24 Season, we conducted a Player/Parent Feedback Survey among participants of the Owen Sound Minor Hockey Program to gain insights into their experiences and perspectives. The feedback aimed to identify areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance support for our Bench Staff and Players. By understanding both strengths and challenges within our organization, our goal was to foster the most positive and enriching hockey experience for everyone involved.

Participation Rate

We are thrilled to announce an impressive overall completion rate of 43% last year, reflecting active engagement from our community. Specifically, our Representative Players contributed at a rate of 46%, while our Local League Players showed a remarkable 48% participation rate. Additionally, our Junior Development Players (U5-U9) joined in with a commendable 35% completion rate. These rates underscore our members' strong commitment to the improvement and development of our organization. We are grateful for the valuable insights shared and remain dedicated to utilizing this feedback to enhance the hockey experience for all.

Takeaway

A key takeaway from last year's survey was the need for greater support and development opportunities for our goalies. We listened and took action. In addition to hosting a free full-day goalie camp, we launched the Keeper's Crease program - specialized development sessions thoughtfully designed to enhance and grow our goalies' skill.
