Bounce back win for Tykes in Wasaga Beach
The Owen Sound Jr. Attack Canadian Tire Tykes returned to winning form on Sunday in Wasaga Beach with a 4-1 win over the home Wasaga Beach Stars. After a tough loss last weekend at home to the Collingwood Blackhawks, the Jr. Attack have now squared their Gerogian Bay Novice C playoff round-robin record at 1-1.
Coach Rob Martin said "Wasaga Beach started strong and Myles was really sharp in net from the opening whistle until the team found it's legs". Kashias Keeshig scored a natural hat trick, followed by the fourth goal from Ronan Helder. Markus Grajnar Ptok had two assists, and Brett Warrilow and Cody Cox each had one helper. Myles Playter was stellar in net against a determined Wasaga Beach team that played a physical style which did not faze the Jr. Attack.
The next playoff game in the Georgian Bay Novice C round-robin for Owen Sound is this coming Sunday against the visiting Honeywood Hurricanes at the Bayshore. Puck drop is 1:15. The Jr. Attack Tykes have played 3 close games during the regular season against Honeywood, and this Sunday's game should be a real test of all the hard work put in during practice.
