OPTION 1: My child has never registered with a Hockey Canada program before
If your child has not previously been registered with any Hockey Canada-sanctioned program, you need to complete the steps below to successfully register them with Owen Sound Minor Hockey for the upcoming season.
Step 1: Complete the Respect in Sport – For Parents course
This mandatory online course is designed to educate parents about creating a positive, safe, and respectful environment in youth hockey. Completing this course is a requirement before you can register your child.
Important: When registering for the course, please select 'Owen Sound' as your Minor Hockey Association. If this is not selected correctly, the registration process will not complete successfully.
Whether you are new to hockey or have completed this course for an older child, this guide will help you add younger siblings to your existing certificate.
Step 2: Set up your Hockey Canada Account and Link Your Player(s)
Once you have completed the Respect in Sport course, you are now ready to register.
You will need to set up an account with Hockey Canada:
Participant Registration: To streamline the registration process, it's essential to link your player(s) to your account before proceeding.
Once you're logged in, click on the person icon in the top right-hand corner and select "My Account." You will be directed to your dashboard where you can click "Link members" to add your participants.
Step 3: Register your Player
After completing the above steps, you can register your child using the Owen Sound Minor Hockey registration portal.
Note: Residency does not restrict where new players register for Local League.
