Season Update: Preparing for 2023-24 Minor Hockey in Owen Sound
As we gear up for another exciting Minor Hockey season in Owen Sound, our focus is on assembling, coordinating, organizing our players and our schedules for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
As is typical at this time of year, the anticipation is growing and rightfully so.

Owen Sound Minor Hockey is receiving a lot of inquiries as to next steps for our players so it is our intent to ensure everyone is on the same page and has the information they need.

Local League Coaching Assignments:

We are actively working on finalizing our Local League program staffing.  You will notice coaching assignments are being posted on our website daily.

These assignments will be completed very shortly as we approach our upcoming Local League Evaluations.

What to Expect for Local League Players:

  • U9 - U15:

For our Local League players in U9, U11, U13, and U15; group evaluation skates have been scheduled and will be taking place to assist in the formation of teams.

Coaches will reach out to their players only after the Evaluation Skates and teams have been assembled.

  • Junior Development U5 – U8:

For our juniors, from U5 to U7, our players will move right into Team Skates as a group.

Our Coaches are ready and look forward to meeting all of our players at our scheduled practice sessions.

For our U8 Group, our organization will be reaching out to inform our players of which team they will be assigned to for the season.

Individual Team Practice slots have already been scheduled and we look forward to welcoming everyone on the ice.

Stay Informed:

Until our Teams are fully assembled, it is often a bit confusing to confirm ice times.  However, to stay updated on schedules and events, please refer to the Official Calendar on the Owen Sound Minor Hockey website.

Once the evaluation skates have been completed, and teams assembled, we invite everyone to join their assigned team on the SportsHeadz app, or subscribe to their Team Calendar to stay informed of schedule updates and changes.  More detailed instructions will be shared as we move forward with team assignments.
