HL Initiation East, 2011-12 (Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group)

It was a great year and we have learned lots from the year and the players have certainly improved. Thanks to the Olynk family for extra ice time and to Coach Bob for making it so much fun. The great coaches have made this year exceptional and a great improvement has been seen by all. We had a great fundraiser that raised money to provide players, coaches and support staff with great gifts.  Fay Harshman came to our party also to hand out Timbit Zambonis to all the players.  She was also presented with pictures of all the teams that she promised would be displayed in all the Tim Hortons in ...

Final score was 3-0 for Osprey 2, but it was 0-0 for most of the game. Isaiah Harvey was a standout in net and we had plenty of chances in the other end but we failed to put it in the back of the net. The kids played a great and hard fought game right to the end and all this with only 2 subs on the bench.

Looking back to the 1st skate of the year to now, the kids look like hockey players as opposed to kids on the ice. Seeing the smiles and excitement in there voices as they proudly showed off there medals is what the sport is all about! Congratulations to everyone on there efforts and to the Parents for making the early morning journey to Hanover.

On Wednesday December 28th our Montreal, Boston & Pittsburgh Tyke Teams were in Hanover competing in the Hanover Tyke Tournament.  Each team played a total of 3 unbelievable games against a wide variety of teams. The Hanover Rink was full of smiles as the kids really enjoyed there day, and they were rewarded with a nice medal to commemorate there day and efforts! Each child has shown remarkable improvement and we are only halfway through the season! 

Santa took some time out of his busy schedule to visit with the initiation groups on December 24th. All the players were so excited to see him.  The players received touques with their team name and number on them. It was a great morning filled with excitement continued from the night before at their Christmas party at the Bayshore.  Barb Downey, Linda Fry, Brian Seaman and Grant Oldrieve did a great job hosting the party.
