OMHA Playdowns
Owen Sound still has three teams playing in the OMHA playdowns. Below is a summary of how they got where they are and what's ahead of them.
Minor Atom
The Brian Pickett Ride Centre Jr. Attack had a strong showing in the preliminary round robin with a 9-2-0 record earning them first in their division. They earned the right to play Woolwich in the quarter finals and were defeated in 4 close games.
(L 4-3, L 5-3, W 2-1, L 4-3). Great job!
Major Bantam
This Gaviller & Co. Jr. Attack played a strong OMHA preliminary round robin earning 10 out of 12 possible points against Hespeler & New Hamburg. In the next series vs Woolwich, they swept the series in three straight games (3-0, 6-2 & 3-1). It took all 5 games, but they defeated Burlington in the semi-finals. ( W 5-2, L 3-1, L 5-2, W 6-4, W 5-1)
They now play a best of 5 series with Amherstberg.
Midget AE
After defeating Woolwich in a three game sweep (5-4, 3-1 and 4-2), the Boot & Blade Jr. Attack is preparing for their series versus Amherstberg for the semi-finals. Schedules for this series are currently being set.
Midget (Crescents)
The Crescents came through their preliminaries undefeated in 6 games. Their quarter final series was a match-up vs Woolwich which they swept in 3 games (7-4, 3-2, and 5-2). They now play a best of 5 series with Amherstberg.
