Owen Sound Minor Hockey is built on the strength of our volunteers, and we’re looking for one more passionate, organized individual to help lead our organization forward.
We are currently accepting expressions of interest for the position of Secretary on the OSMHG Executive Team.

About the Role: Secretary (2-Year Term)
The Secretary acts as the custodian of all official records, documents, and proceedings of the Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group. This includes facilitating communication amongst the team, organizing meetings, and maintaining the historical integrity of our operations.
This is a 2-year elected position.
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable using basic computer tools (email, Microsoft Office)
- Familiar with the OSMHG Constitution, Manual of Operations, and Policies
- Knowledgeable about meeting protocols and minute-taking
- Passionate about contributing to the success of minor hockey in Owen Sound
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange and notify members of Executive Committee meetings
- Attend and record minutes at Executive, Regular, and Annual General Meetings
- Distribute meeting minutes to all Executive members within 48 hours before meetings
- Maintain and provide access to the OSMHG Constitution and operational manuals
- Serve as one of five official signing authorities for financial disbursements
- Sign legal documents on behalf of the Group, alongside the President
- Forward approved minutes to the Director of Communications for website posting
- Present proposed policy amendments annually to the Executive
- Submit correspondence and messages to appropriate Executive members
- Support the Discipline Committee in reviewing or creating policies as needed
