Bradford Blue & Gold Champions!
The Leeder & Associates U10 (Minor Atom) team started off their 2021-22 season in style with a big Championship win at the Bradford Blue and Gold Tournament this weekend by defeating the Bradford Bulldogs in a close final, 4-3!

The U10 team has been itching to get into the tournament and representative circuit for over a year after delays due to the COVID restrictions.  They used the opportunity of the tournament to quickly adjust to playing 5-on-5, full ice hockey, getting to know each other and the game!  They boosted their confidence in the first game with a dominating 11-1 win over North Toronto.  Their early morning game on Saturday saw them fall to their eventual final opponents, the Bradford Bulldogs, 6 to 1.  They got their groove back against King Rebellion, winning their final round robin game 3 to 1 and the semi-final Sunday morning a convincing 7 to 1!

The final against the Bulldogs saw both teams ready to battle with pressure in either end, on-point passing, lots of shots on net, defensive saves and all heart!  Although the Attack came out on top 3 to 1 after the first period, the Bulldogs came back to create a nail-biter with the score tied 3 to 3 at the end of the second.  The final period was intense with the Attack finally coming out on top 4 to 3 at the end of the game!  Tournament Champions!

Great job by all of our skaters, goalies and coaching staff.  What a way to start the season and the competitive hockey career for this young group!
