International Silver Stick Champions!
The Leeder & Associates U10A Jr Attack team went undefeated in the Newmarket International Silver Stick Championships March 12th-15th to take the Championship title!
In round robin play they worked as a team in all four games and outscored their opponents 19 goals to 4, clinching a semi-final position. They faced the Georgina Blaze team in a tight semi-final, pulling through with a 3-1 win.
The early morning final on March 15th saw the Jr Attack never giving up and battling their way to a 4-2 victory over the Essex-Southpoint Capitals. This exciting group of talented young players is fun to watch and their families are so proud of how hard they worked. There is depth in all positions and the players support each other on the ice with impressive forecheck and backcheck, passing the puck, super saves and a never die attitude! The bench staff are always supportive of their players while challenging them to achieve the next level in their abilities. We are looking forward to seeing their progress through the Tri-County and OMHA finals in the weeks to come!
We are celebrating this championship team with a parade through town at 4 pm today (Tuesday March 15th), starting from the top of the hill coming into town and heading to the Bayshore. We'd love to have all their supporters out to celebrate this team!
