It's worth the drive to Acton
The Harold Sutherland Peewee Major JR Attack kicked the weekend off with an exciting double header with away games in Acton and Hespeler. And wrapped it up with a Sunday afternoon matinee at the Bayshore against Oakville.

Game 1

Just like the 80's TV commercial, "It's Worth the drive to Acton". The Halton Hills match up at the new Acton Arena was exciting from start to finish. Halton Hills lit the tannery lights first after a mishandled puck behind the Owen Sound net that ended up in the net. The Attack dominated the first with the Corsi numbers off the chart good, but Owen Sound let Halton Hills hang around and failed to score in the nail biting first period. The boys then had their olde hide's handed to them in the second with Halton Hills keeping the majority of play in Owen Sound's end, leaving most visiting fans in the stands wondering what happened to the team they watched in the first. Owen Sound turned the corner in the third and Ronan Helder and Kaleb Slater scored two unanswered goals just 20 seconds apart. Assists from Cam Moore, and Cody Cox. The boys then held onto the one goal lead for the first victory of the weekend.

Some beauty jackets in the video. I think I saw Paul Newman’s from Slap Shot on the rack.

Game 2

The 4:45 game against 2nd place Hespeler was a matchup everyone was looking forward to. A short 30 minute drive, and a massive team lunch at Boston Pizza fuelled the team's desire for a second competitive game. (Big props to Boston Pizza for being amazing at accommodating such a larch group with ease!) The Hespeler game was an exciting and hard played affair with the refs calling a tight game with 8 minutes in penalties for both sides. On the score board it was a back and forth affair with Hespeler scoring first, and Owen Sound answering each goal. The teams battled to a 3-3 tie. Not bad for a second game of the day against a fresh team that was sitting in second place, in the very competitive Tri-County league. Nathan Doran scored a pair, and Cam Moore added a single. The game's assists from Cody Cox, MGP, Ronan Helder, Bryce Martin, Kaleb Slater and Nato Oniszeczko.

Game 3
Back to the Bayshore for photo day and a Sunday afternoon matchup against the Oakville Rangers. Owen Sound took an early lead with a beauty goal by Kashias Keeshig with helpers from Cohen Garvie and MGP (new nick name for print, can you guess who). Oakville battled back and tied the game midway through the second. The boy’s legs were starting to show the strain of a three game weekend in this final matchup. Pure speed wasn’t going to be enough to get the boys through this game. But an awesome power play was! As Oakville filled the penalty box, Owen Sound filled the net. Nate Doran added a power play marker that would go on to be the game winner. Marcus Grajnar Ptok (MGP) added a pair of power play goals too. Games assists from Cohen Garvie, Kashias Keeshig (2), Nate Oniszeczko, and Nate Doran.
