The tryptophan in the turkey kicked in a little early for the Harold Sutherland Major Peewee JR Attack this Thanksgiving weekend. The team got off to a slow start in the game that would see the end of their impressive 9 game unbeaten streak. After a slow start, the team was thankful to escape the first period in a scoreless tie. The coaching staff was able to wake the team from their thanksgiving slumber, and a much better performance in the second period followed. The team put the biscuit in the basket in the second to take the lead in the scoreless game, but the home town officials in Milton ruled it no goal due to a high stick.

Milton would copy Owen Sounds's style in the 3rd and score on a tip in for a power play goal. Owen Sound mounted a strong comeback effort in the last half of the third but a penalty with 2:30 to play  left the team on the defensive. The game would end in a 1-0 score, and hand the Harold Sutherland Major Peewee JR Attack their first loss of the year.

Stuffing the net at the Bayshore
The Sunday afternoon tilt the following day at the Bayshore would see the Harold Sutherland Major Peewee JR Attack hit the reset button against the Woolwich Wildcats. Owen Sound's Markus Granjnar Ptok would find the back of the net at the 4:42 mark of the first, but just 16 seconds later the Woolwich Wildcats would even the score. Two more goals in the 2nd saw the home town Attack trailing by two. Markus Granjnar Ptok pulled the team to within one at the end of the second.

An interference penalty with 3:41 would give the Attack the opportunity they were waiting for. Defensive coach Geoff Waite said he had a hunch as he sent William Hellyer out for the power play. Hellyer's long range shot from the point found the back of the net with just 2:39 left to play in the game. With the score tied at 3, the Attack continued to pressure hard but simply ran out of time.

The Harold Sutherland Major Peewee JR Attack are on the road next weekend to St. Thomas, and are looking forward to a potential tournament matchup against the number one ranked team in the province.
