Minor Atoms Find Sucess in Newmarket
The Owen Sound Jr. Attack Booy's Action Auto Centre Minor Atoms travelled to Newmarket on December 1 st for their second tournament of the season. The Jr. Attack are having a great season and the players were looking forward to the challenge the teams in Newmarket would represent.

The tournament got started with a game against the St. Thomas Stars. the Booy's Action Auto Minor Atoms got off to a good start with a hard fought 4-3 victory. The players went back to the hotel feeling great about the game and
ready for the next challenge Saturday morning.

The opponent Saturday morning was Soo Legion. The Booy's Action Auto Minor Atoms have proven over time that they are a morning team and this game was no different. The team came out flying and never looked back. The end result was a 6-0 win with Eric Meikle playing awesome for the shutout.

The West Mall Lightning were on the other bench in the afternoon and proved to be no match for the Jr. Attack. Alex Harris backstopped Owen Sound to their second straight shutout and a 7-0 win over the Lightning. That win meant that Owen Sound claimed first place in their pool and would play York Mills in the semifinals on Sunday morning.  I believe I mentioned that the Jr. Attack are a morning team. They proved it once again by continuing the shutout
streak and winning 3-0. Eric Meikle was once again a brick wall.

The semifinal win set up a rematch with St. Thomas in the final. This was an intense game and it was easy to see that St. Thomas wanted to avenge their opening game loss to the Jr. Attack. It was not to be for the Stars though. The Owen Sound Jr. Attack Booy's Action Auto Minor Atom team was on a mission and they skated to a 4-2 win in
the final game.

This is the second tournament win in the season for this team. The coaches look to keep the team rolling as the team heads into the final stretch of the regular season.
