MAJOR PEEWEES WIN EARLY BIRD
The Harold Sutherland Construction Major Peewees were crowned Champions of the Attack Early Bird Tournament held last weekend.
With no exhibition games under their belt before the tournament opener the boys came out a little flat losing their first game to the Saugeen Shores Storm 2-1. Some of the rust came off in the second game as the squad got out to a 6-1 lead over a tenacious Penetang team who fought back to a 6-3 final. Some good defense and goaltending and a sustained attack sailed the boys past Caledonia and New Hamburg and into the final against Penetang once again. A back and forth affair which saw the boys down to the Flames midway through the game came down to overtime with the score tied at 3. In the 4 on 4 overtime a blast from Kieran Moore settled the score and the boys took home their first ever tournament win!
A great team effort and start to the season...Way to go Fellas!!
