Major Atoms end Huronia Tournament on high note
The Leeder and Associates Jr. Attack Major Atoms competed this weekend in the annual Huronia Tournament hosted by Collingwood Minor Hockey. After the opening round saw the team go winless despite some strong efforts they found themselves facing the Saugeen Shores Storm in their final 3rd place consolation game.

The Storm had gotten the better of the Attack in the first game of the tournament skating away with a 5-1 win. After two hard fought losses to Mount Brydges and our old "friends" from Collingwood, the Storm and the Attack renewed acquaintances at the Central Park Arena in Collingwood. The boys came out strong and built a 2-0 lead on goals by Cohen Garvie and Kashias Keeshig. The Storm then potted a couple of quick goals to knot the score at 2. A great individual rush by Nate Oniszeczko put the Attack ahead to stay with Keeshig scoring on the empty net to make the final 4-2.
A special mention to Scott Lumley who picks up his first win of the year between the pipes with a stellar effort holding back a talented team from Saugeen Shores.
Next weekend sees the Leeder and Associates Major Atoms on the road in Wasaga Beach on Friday night and a home game on Saturday afternoon at 3:45 a versus Elmvale.
