On Remembrance Day, the
Gaviller & Co. Major Bantam Jr. Attack prepared and sent Christmas Cards with the team photo to soldiers overseas.
(The post office has a service that will provide you with the addresses)
Much to the surprise of the team, we received a thank you from Warrant Officer Eric St-Pierre from
Operation Soprano in South Sudan!
Here is the full text of his message:
Hey guys!!
I'm Warrant Officer Eric St-Pierre from OP SOPRANO South Sudan.
Thanks for the Christmas Card that you sent us. Highly appreciated. We received many Christmas cards from many organisations. But this is the first time I see it from a hockey team!! Awesome!!
By the way, we, at OP SOPRANO, play floor hockey every Saturdays (supper time=less warm). Last Saturday, we played against the Russians. And we won...of course!! One of the guys played very well. I think those guys know hockey too...
The hockey game is a concept that many countries do not understand. We, as canadians, make sure that we spread that sport. However, many of the countries that we meet here...are afraid of ice... Too bad, we'll beat someone else at the Olympics...
From the whole team at OP SOPRANO South Sudan, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
We are proud to be canadian, and we are proud to represnt you!!!
