Detriot Tournament a Fun Weekend
The Owen Sound Minor Bantams travelled to Detroit with 9 and in the final game 8 skaters and did very well.
In game #1 the minor bantams defeated Blenheim 3-1 with Craig McKague scoring all 3 goals and having his best game of the year with Trayne Brown having a solid game in net.
Game # 2 saw Owen Sound lose to a local Belle tire team with unfriendly referring with no clue what a head check is. At one point Owen Sound had 5 players in the penalty box, 4 on the ice, and no players on the bench. With a very late goal Owen Sound was defeated 3-2.
The final game with only 8 skaters Owen Sound was defeated 4-1 by the Guelph AA team from the tri-county league. Owen Sound scorer was Ryan McNeill.
The Minor Bantams played some excellent hockey with less than 2 lines and enjoyed their weekend in the USA with some players going to Red Wings and Canadians game Thursday night.
