Minor PeeWee's Defeat Halton Hills
The Owen Sound Garb & Gear Minor PeeWee's travelled to Georgetown Friday night, fresh off a come from behind tie over the former Ontario #1 rank London Nationals, hungry to exact some revenge over the Halton Hills Thunder for their early season 4-2 loss.  The Attack were expecting a hard fought battle against the 3rd place Thunder, but skated away with a dominating 5-0 shutout, with Mason Adams turning away all shots.  Captain Joseph Pringle was a steady force on the blue line, earning the player of the game hard hat on the night.

As for scoring plays, the boys didn't take long to get things going with Gavin Downs streaking down into the offensive
zone, making  a nifty move to cut to the slot and dishing off to Graham Gateman, who slid it five-hole past the net minder for the opening tally just over one minute in.

The Attack kept sustained pressure on the Thunder for most of the opening period resulting in the second goal.  Mitch Kaufman and Andrew Suchomel traded scoring opportunities down low in the slot when the Thunder defense recovered the puck and tried to clear the zone.  A great play by Nick McAsh to keep the puck in and his resulting shot on goal from the blue line was good for the 2-0 marker with 3:09 to go in the first.

Some great chemisty resulted in the Owen Sound 3rd goal.  Without a clear shot in front, Jacob Condy found Sam Shakes open in the corner who fed a pass behind the net to Travis Morrison.  Morrison then drove with the puck on his forehand and slipped the wraparound marker in the back of the goal with 3:22 to go in the 2nd.

Downs and Kaleb Martin showed good passing prowess in the offensive zone, finding Nick Mandeno battling alone hard in front of the Halton net who spun around and buried the Attack's 4th goal, finding the netminder's five hole weak spot with 1:22 go go in the game.

The Attack showed no mercy in the final seconds of the game with Morrison battling for the puck in the right corner.  Sensing the need to help, Condy skated in to aid his teammate, coming up with the loose puck and drove out to the front of the net where he found Shakes for the back door tally, adding insult to injury.

The boys are back in action on Saturday where they face the league leading Woolwich Wildcats on the front end of a home and home series.  Go Attack Go!
