Back on Track
The Leeder and Associates Major Atoms seem to be back on track after a rough spell which saw them drop 5 of 10 with one tie. This is good news as the OMHA playdowns are upon us...

The first game of the OMHA playdowns saw the boys lose to a good team from Burlington (24-3-1)...4-0. Penalties cost the boys once again.
The Oakville Rangers Blue team came to town and the boys had them in their sights going up 1-0 after 1 but Oakville got the game to a 2-1 advantage late. Coach Gary called timeout and set the play but a lost faceoff led to a goal and opened the flood gates as the boys lost interest and the game 5-1.
Last weekends win over Halton Hills seems to have energized the boys after a deflating 5-2 loss the day before. The boys were up against the wall in OMHA playdown action having lost their first 3 games. The coaching staff wanted some answers as to what the boys planned to do...they came up with one on Sunday as they put it to, a somewhat cocky Halton squad going up 2-0 in the first 45 seconds of the game. Some excellent passing and great man to man coverage deep in our zone paid off and the boys came away with a 7-4 win. The move to bring Drayton Howell back to the D, and Aiden (get out of my way) Yarde back up front seems to be a better fit as we move into some serious OMHA action.
Friday night saw the Caledon Hawks come to town. In what seemed to be a lobsided contest the boys skated to a 4-2 win. Ryan Campbell was feeling it between the pipes as he gets back into game shape after missing most of the season with a broken collar bone. Way to go Ryan!
Next action...another crack at Burlington and Oakville!
