Novice A suffer tough loss to undefeated Cyclones
The Quick Lube Owen Sound Novice A Jr. Attack suffered their second loss in Georgian Bay Minor Hockey League Action Wednesday night versus the undefeated Stayner Cyclones.

Owen Sound come out of the gate quick scoring just 47 seconds into the contest with a perfectly placed shot by Cody Cox (assisted by Callum Stata).

Stayner was a one man show with Carson Eagles' first unassisted goal coming just 30 seconds later to knot the game at one after one.

The Jr. Attack were once again quick off the draw, gaining the lead just 33 seconds into the second period with some nice pressure in front of the net allowing Bryce Martin to sneak in a Markus Ptok rebound.

Kai Bryja stood tall and strong in net stopping many Carson Eagle break-a-ways and heavy shots before Stayner tied the game up late in the second period.

The home town Attack skated fast, fought hard, but came up short as Carson Eagle for Stayner found a way to score two unanswered in the third period to give the visitors a 4-2 win and remain undefeated in GBMHL action (24-0).

The biggest game of the year for the Owen Sound Novice squad comes Saturday night versus Collingwood at the Rec Centre. This promises to be a spirited affair as the Jr. Attack have battled to a 1-2-1 record with the Blackhawks this season.

Puck drops at 7:40pm and is likely to determine if they advance to the final round of the 2014 Playoffs.
