The Kunkel Bus Lines Bantam AE’s opened their first tournament of the year vs a local team from Kent County. Goals from Tayan McMillan from Andrew Spitzig, and Dustin Lantz from Tayan MacMillan kept the game tied until the 3rd period when Kent was able to pull away and take the win by a score of 5 to 2. Seth Gauthier was in net.
The team played their second game came on Saturday morning
against Listowel but started slow and were not able to recover. Goals came from Tayan MacMillan from Dustin
Lantz and Kwyn Acton, Logan McComb from Dustin Lantz, and Andrew Spitzig from
AJ Kosempel. Brendan Lumley and Seth
Gauthier shared goal tending responsibilities during the game.
The team’s third game was its best winning 7 to 0 vs the
home-town Mooretown Storm. Hat Tricks from AJ Kosempel and Liam McManaman led
the way. Big hits from Chris Bumstead ensured
players had to pay a price to enter the Owen Sound zone and shutout goal tending
from Brendan Lumley and Seth Gauthier kept the storm off the scoreboard. Goals and assists game as follows; Kosempel
from Spitzig and McManaman, MacMillan from Caron, McManaman from Kosempel,
Kosempel from Richardson, McManaman from Kosempel and Spitzig, Kosempel from
Acton and MacMillan, McManaman from Kearney and Bumstead.
Six points are up for grabs this week with a home and away
vs Elmvale and a trip to Collingwood as the boys play 3 games in the next 5
