The Kunkel Bus Lines Bantam AE’s Beat Midland Away
"Forget about style; worry about results." Bobby Orr
The Kunkel Bus Lines Bantam AE’s showed their true colors vs Midland on Saturday with an exciting and physical come from behind win.  The boys were just a little caught off guard by a physical Midland team during the first period but were able to hold them off with neither team scoring and with teams trading various penalties. The second period started poorly with Midland continuing physical play and scoring 2 goals on us quickly.

At that point something snapped as the boys started skating faster and playing more physical and it showed with a goal by Jake Richardson who snapped a hard shot past the Midland goalie, assisted by Braden Marks and George Kearney, and Chris Bumstead who tied the game with a low flying missile from the point straight into the net assisted by Brayden White and George Kearney.  The push back effort left the game tied at 2 goals apiece after 2 periods of play.
The 3rd period proved to be even more exciting with Midland quickly scoring a fluke disputable goal early to take a one goal lead.  Enter the minor aged fwds!  Tayan McMillan skated hard all game and was rewarded with the game tying goal sliding the puck just past the goalies left pads further proving that almost any shot is better than no shot!  Next it was Andrew Spitzig scoring the go-ahead goal wristing the puck past the goalies right pads this time assisted by Liam McManaman.

Next it was Alex MacNeil who was rewarded for going to the net as he tipped a bouncing pass into the net icing the victory for the Attack. Assist for the final goal going to George Kearney.  Seth Gauthier earned the victory stopping 22 of 25 shots.  Although no points would have been awarded for style, Bobby Orr himself would have been impressed with the results and the effort.  It would have been easy for the boys to give up being down twice in the game.  The character of the team and the coaching staff was revealed with a hard fought road victory in Midland.  Final score Owen Sound Kunkel Bus Lines Bantam AE’s Junior Attack 5 Midland 3.  Great work lads.
