Major Atoms Georgian Bay "A" Champions
For the Owen Sound Leeder & Associate Major Atom Jr Attack, it all came down to game #57 of the season; a 3rd and deciding game against a tough Elmvale Team.  The winner would be crowned Georgian Bay "A" division Champions.

The Elmvale Coyotes had played OS tough all year, winning both regular season games and another in the playoff Round Robin, before the two Teams split the first two games of this series.

This game started the way all the other games against Elmvale had gone; back and forth with chances at both ends.  The first period ended 0-0.  Second period, more of the same; back and forth with plenty of chances for both Teams.  Both goalies came to play tonight with Owen Sound goaltender Kaelem Ryan making a couple key saves throughout the 2nd period.  With under 7 minutes to play in the 2nd, Elmvale scored the opening goal to take a 1-0 lead.  That score only stood for 14 seconds as Elmvale went right back down the ice and made it 2-0.  This point in the game for OS was either "pack it in" or "make a statement"; and make a statement they did.  Owen Sound would get 2 goals from Mitch Kaufman in a 2 minute and 41 second span leaving the Teams knotted at 2 going into the 3rd period.

The season had now come down to a 15 minute period for the title of Georgian Bay Champions.  The large crowd of Owen Sound family and friends who made the trip to Elmvale, wearing their Attack jerseys and putting their noise makers to good use, would not be disappointed.  Mitch Kaufman completed the natural hat trick with a goal 2 1/2 minutes into the 3rd.  This was only the beginning of one of the most exciting periods of hockey by Owen Sound all season.  The Attack then scored goals off the sticks of Andrew Suchomel, Gavin Downs and Kaleb Martin; while Kaelem Ryan continued to do what he does, stop pucks!  The final buzzer goes, the boys pile over the boards to celebrate, the Coaches shake hands and the fans cheer and applaud the Team they have stood behind all year.
Final score; OS wins 6-2.

A huge Thank You to the parents and fans for the support they have hown the Team all year.  And of course, the biggest shout out goes to the players.  Good job Fellas!  TEAM!
