Owen Sound Bantam AE Sweep Collingwood in Finals
Our guys played a hard fought game to win 2-1 in the 2nd game of the Consolation Finals taking the series 2 games to 0 winning the best of three.
The first period ended 0-0.
The first goal was scored by Collingwood with 12:53 left in the second. Logan Arstrong scored less then 2 minutes later, from a pass by Garrett Ramsey, to tie the game at one. Logans goal was assisted by Garrett Ramsey, Nathaniel Lowden and Zack Austin.
With 3:15 left in the third, Matt Thompson scored off a beautiful pass from Scott Long with George Kearney passing to Scott for an asist as well.
THen a strange penalty shot was called against Owen Sound. Brendan Lumley made a great poke check stopping Collingwoods scoring chance. From this point on the game got a little rough as Collingwood fought back hard to try and tie the game. Brendan kept the puck out giving us the win.
Congrats to our guys for the great year they had and for all the hard work they put into the season turning it around in time for the play offs.
