Junior Attack Bantams Start Belleville Shriners Tourney with 2 Wins
The Owen Sound Junior Attack Gaviller & Company LLP Major Bantams started off their tournament weekend - at the Belleville Junior Bulls / Shriners 62nd Annual Tourney - with 2 solid wins on Friday.

In the opening game Friday, the Junior Attack Major Bantams defeated the Huntsville Otters 5-2.

Scoring Summary:

1) Alex Muzzell (from Mitchell Wand)
2) Kai Hiemstra (from Janine Vanderschot)
3) Ryan Newell (unassisted)
4) Kai Hiemstra (from Mitchell Wand)
5) Nathan Roy (from Emerson Masters)

Goalie:  Andrew Rutherford

In the second game late Friday night, the Junior Attack Major Bantams defeated the Napanee Stars 5-1.

Scoring Summary:
Kai Hiemstra scored a hat-trick for the Junior Attack, with Kyle Betts adding a pair. Hiemstra, Betts, Brandon Hornburg, Nathan Roy and Dylan Brown assisted.

The game was significantly delayed due to a Napanee player injury which required paramedics to stabilize the player for transport to hospital.  Thanks to Owen Sound Trainer Scott Betts and Dr. Ken Newell who tended to the injured Napanee player.

The Junior Attack Bantams currently lead the tournament with 2 wins and 9 1/2 points and are next in action against the Belleville Junior Bulls Saturday afternoon.  The Junior Bulls currently trail the Attack in the standing by just a point.  A victory on Saturday will guarantee a place for Owen Sound on Sunday, where the top 2 teams advance to the Championship.

Saturday night approximately 60 Junior Attack Bantam players and families will be at the OHL Attack/Belleville Bulls game, cheering on the Attack.
