Owen Sound Garb & Gear Minor PeeWees win 3 of 3 this Weekend Nov 18-20
On Friday night the Owen Sound Minor PeeWees visited the Brampton Memorial Arena to play the Jr. Battalion, anxious to notch one in the win column .

They jumped off to a 3 - 0 head start thanks to some awesome passing and a hot goalie #1 Briten Marcell.  Owen Sound didn't wait long to shift into a defensive mode, being up by three. Starting in the second period Brampton began to work their way back into the game and Owen Sound soon found themselves only up by one goal, due to some shorthanded play.  At last the buzzer went and the final score was 3-2 in favour of Owen Sound.  Scoring for Owen Sound was #2 Josh Hamill assisted by #8 Nathan Papke. #5 Cody Cunningham & #9 Caleb Andrews both scored unassisted.

Saturday afternoon Owen Sound had Brampton back to the Bayshore for another match.  Once again Owen Sound’s #2 Josh Hamill assisted by #8 Nathan Papke, popped one in quick to show Brampton that they really did mean business.  Brampton answered right back and tied it up not long after.  Owen Sound wasn’t finished yet as #3 Ryan McNeill netted a pair and put them up by 2. Assists to #9 Caleb Andrews, #10 Tyler Scott & #5 Cody Cunningham, #17 Brennan Ireland.  Brampton scored another and tried pressuring Owen Sound but Josh Hamill put one in the empty net and ended Brampton’s hopes.  Brennan Ireland assisted the goal. Final score Owen Sound - 4 Guelph - 2.

Sunday afternoon Owen Sound had Guelph to town for a fairly physical game at the Bayshore.  #14 Drake La Plante drilled a wrist shot over Guelph’s agile little goalie who couldn’t react quick enough to stop the shot. The goal was assisted by #4 Brett Angel and #12 Keegan McIlmoyle.  Owen Sound fought hard to stay ahead the whole game and Goalie #1 Briten Marcell was exceptional on many scrambles around the net.  The Jr. Storm played with desperation the whole game but was not able to put any numbers on the board. In the final seconds #5 Cody Cunningham notched an empty netter and took away any opportunity that Guelph might have had.   Owen Sound won 2-0.  Congratulations Owen Sound on an excellent weekend result 3 for 3 and to Briten for the well-deserved shutout.
