On Friday Owen Sound visited Georgetown, Owen Sound controlled the play for most of the game. Nate Papke opened the scoring with Cody Cunningham assisting the goal. It wasn't long after Georgetown evened the score and was lucky enough to have two pucks over their own goal line be declared "no goal". Georgetown then scored one more and Owen Sound was just not able to get another one by their net minder, final score Georgetown 2-1. Owen Sound was clearly the more physical team and will look forward to meeting them again soon.
Saturday Owen Sound was in Milton, scoring first was Owen Sound's Cody Cunningham from Branson Thalen and Josh Hamill. Owen Sound controlled the play for much of game. Milton was able to tie the game playing very physical. Final score was 1-1. Owen Sound was clearly the better team.
Sunday Owen Sound had Burlington 1-0 for half of the first period and most of the second with Cody Cunningham scoring from Josh Hamill. Burlington tied the game near the end of the second and held on to receive a tie. Final score 1-1.
In summary; The Garb & Gear Peewee's Goaltending was once again a major factor this weekend with Briten Marcell playing exceptionally well, he kept Owen Sound in each game while the whole team worked very hard and showed a higher skill level with a desire to win attitude.
