Georgetown Best of the Best Tournament Results
Owen Sound Garb & Gear Minor Peewees Best of the Best tournament. Starting on Friday morning Owen Sound was caught off guard by the Host team, Georgetown who scored 5 unanswered goals, final score Georgetown 5-0.
In the second game which was Friday afternoon Owen Sounds' Cody Cunningham scored first, assisted by Caleb Andrews and Branson Thalen, and looked really strong while holding the lead for all of the first period. Sometime in the second the Brampton team poured on the heat and continued to dominate the rest of the game, final score was 4-1 Brampton.
On Saturday Owen Sound met Milton and was definitely the better team as Cody Cunningham scored assisted by Branson Thalen and Josh Hamill while Josh Hamill was credited with a goal as he was tripped during a break-away on an empty net. It was an exciting game throughout the team was brilliant and Briten Marcell could not be beat and earned a shutout for his efforts, final score 2-0 Owen Sound.
Later Saturday evening Owen Sound was in really tough against a physical Burlington club, once again Owen Sound opened the scoring with Josh Hamill from Cody Cunningham, but was unable to keep the momentum which they started with, final score 8-1 Burlington. Owen Sound travels to Georgetown to play on Friday Oct. 14.
