Minor Atom's GBMHL Champions!
The BDO Dunwoody Jr Attack hosted the Collingwood Blackhawks on Saturday at the Coliseum where they claimed the GBMHL Championship title defeating Collingwood 2-0 in the best of 3 series.
Owen Sound won game 1 of the series in Collingwood 4-1.
Game 2 was in Owen Sound where the Atom's tied the Blackhawks 1-1 forcing a third game on home ice.
The Attack wanted this title and came ready to play.
Reid Thomson and Joel Coghlin worked together to find Brayden Krueger where he slid one past the Collingwood netminder less than two minutes into the game.
With four minutes remaining in the second period, Andrew Suchomel tucked one in the far side assisted by Nick Mandeno.
The third period remained scoreless.
Mason Adams played well in net and earned the shutout.
The Minor Atom's were crowned GBMHL Champs with their 2-0-1 record.
A fantastic effort by the team today and a fitting end to a great season.
What a great way to wrap up Owen Sound Minor Hockey in the final game held at the Owen Sound Coliseum.
