Novice AEs give league leaders a run
MEAFORD - The Owen Sound QuikLube Junior Attack novice AEs played the Georgian Bay Minor Hockey League B division-leading Georgian Shores squad on Wednesday.

The last time these two teams met, early in the season, Georgian Shores walked away with a convincing 10-2 win.
On Wednesday night it was a different story as the Owen Sound AEs played Georgian Shores tough, getting several scoring chances.
Georgian Shores eventually potted a goal, but Owen Sound managed to get it back when Landen Humphries stripped a Georgian Shores defender of the puck and knocked it past their goalie.
Georgian Shores scored another goal in the second and Owen Sound went into the third down 2-1, despite several good scoring chances.
In the third period, the young Owen Sound squad ran out of gas a bit and allowed Georgian Shores score three quick goals. The Junior Attack didn't give up and had several chances of their own, but were unable to get any more past the Georgian Shores keeper and the game ended with the score 5-1.
Landon Sanford had another strong game between the pipes for Owen Sound, turning aside several Georgian Shores shots.
Owen Sound, who now has a record of 3-11, travel to Feversham on the weekend where they face Osprey at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
