The Leeder and Associated Jr Attack U10 team battled through six tough games to finish with a silver medal in their first Silver Stick experience!
The team started their quest for the championship on Friday against the team they would end up facing in the final - Centre Wellington, ending in a tie game 8-8. They powered on to win their next three games against Barrie (10-2), Orillia (4-3), New Hamburg (7-2). They checked in early for a semi-final on Sunday against Woolwich and won 8 to 4 to take them into the finals.
The final match up against Centre Wellington was well fought on both sides. The game was close for all three periods but Centre Wellington came out on top 3 to 1.
While not the final result they were hoping for, the players and coaches can be very proud with their showing at the Silver Stick regional qualifier hosted in Owen Sound. Thanks to all the volunteers who worked hard to put on a great local tournament! Our boys were happy to represent Owen Sound!
