Heading Back To The OMHA Finals
The same age group that won the Major Atom OMHA title in 2019 are heading back to defend their championship!  It was a tough, grueling 8+ weeks to get to this point but the Attack are back and ready to challenge for the Minor Pee Wee OMHA title.

After eliminating Guelph and Oakville in round 1 and Milton in the preliminaries, the Minor Pee Wees outlasted Centre Wellington 3 games to 2 in the Quarter Finals on their way to a Semi-Final clash against the St. Thomas Stars.  The series, which featured the top seeded Stars against the 2nd ranked Attack ended up being a classic!  After St. Thomas took the series opener 3-2 in OT, Owen Sound bounced back in game 2, outplaying the Stars and coming away with a 5-4 win and a split in the series.  The series then shifted to Owen Sound for games 3 and 4; home to the loudest, most supportive fans in minor hockey!  A jammed packed Julie McArthur Rec Centre was the site for game 3 and the Minor Pee Wees did not disappoint the fans, taking the series lead and game 3 by a score of 4-1.  The Bayshore was the site for game 4.  The Attack came out flying for game 4 but couldn’t get anything by the Stars netminder.  After a scoreless first the Stars got on the board with a power play goal and an early 1-0 lead, a lead they would never relinquish.  In the end, St. Thomas hung on for a 3-1 win, a 2-2 split in the series and a chance to punch their ticket to the OMHA final on home ice.  In game 5 The Attack started off slow going down 2-0 after the first 5 minutes of play.  As the 1st period progressed so did the momentum of the game and the Attack came roaring back to tie the game at 2-2.  The Stars responded and regained the lead, a lead they would hold for the first part of the 3rd period, but once again the Attack fought back yet again notching the game at 3’s. The Attack then scored what would be the game winner late in the 3rd and then holding on for a thrilling 4-3 come from behind win! The win stamped the Owen Sound Garb & Gear Minor Pee Wees ticket back to the OMHA finals.

The Owen Sound Garb and Gear Minor Pee Wees are asking all minor hockey fans to come out and cheer them on as them try to win back-to-back championships!  The OMHA final series will start in Orillia on Thursday, March 12 and Saturday, March 14th respectively.  The following weekend, Friday, March 20th at 7:00pm and Sunday, March 22nd at 3:00pm the series will shift back to Owen Sound.  Both Owen Sound games will be played at the Julie McArthur Rec Centre.  Please wear your Attack colors and come out to support your Owen Sound Garb and Gear Minor Pee Wees!
