Great Week for Peewee LL 2
Joe's Garage Peewee Local League has enjoyed the best week of their season so far, with their first two wins, and a fun, successful team fundraiser at Boston Pizza!
The team played in their first tournament of the season on December 9 in Mount Forest. A tricky draw meant an very early start to the tournament, but by the second game, the team brought their "A" game. They celebrated their first win of the season in grand fashion, beating the Minto Mad Dogs 1-0 on a goal from Ryan Cooke and a spectacular shutout from Camden Younghusband. Although the consolation championship didn't end the way the team hoped, the boys had a great day!
By Tuesday the team had rested up, and defeated the host Bruce Peninsula Northstars 5 -1. It was a great effort from all, with two goals from Wyatt Gibbons, and one each from Keiran Zettler, Grant Hart and Graydon Younghusband!
On Wednesday evening, the team held an Earnback fundraiser at Boston Pizza, with amazing raffle prizes from community members and businesses. Each team member did his part, welcoming the guests and making them feel at home. As a result of the boys' hard work and the community's generosity, the team is able to attend the Froster Festival at the end of the season!
Thanks to the bench staff, parents and fans who supported the team to this point in the season, and through a busy week!
