Four Point Weekend
The Kunkel Bus Lines Major Bantams played two physical opponents on the weekend, but were able to weather the storm and walk away with 4 points!

First up was a road trip to Georgetown to face the Halton Hills Thunder. With seven to go in the opening frame, Spencer Davidson put the Jr. Attack on the board with help from Jaiden Whitlock and Jacob Duncan.
Three minutes later, goaltender Myles Playter turned away a penalty shot to preserve the one goal lead, and that was the score after the first.
Just two and change into the second, Cole Gowan gave the Jr. Attack a two goal lead with the assist coming from Jaiden Whitlock.
Myles Playter was once again tested on a wide open breakaway, but made a glove save to keep the home team off the board.
With 2:31 to go in the middle period, the Thunder found the back of the net on a bang-bang play with the man advantage. The Attack answered quickly with less then a minute to go as Curtis Arnold (assist to Ethan Kerr), put the Kunkel squad up by two again.
The third period saw three more different goal scorers in Nolan Andrews, Ethan Kerr, and Jacob Duncan (assists John Elzinga, Cole Gowan, and Tyson Downs).
Final Score, 6-1

Sunday afternoon at the Rec Centre saw the OSMHG Bantam team face off against the first place team from the prior season, the Ancaster Avalanche.
After one period, the Jr. Attack were ahead 1-0 with a goal by Nolan Andrews (John Elzinga and Tyson Morrison with the assists).
In the second, Spencer Davidson would score with help from John Elzinga and Tyson Downs.
Ancaster would add a single, but that was not enough as Jamie Nicoll was solid in goal en route to a 2-1 victory on home ice.

Crescent Athletic Club
The Crescent Athletic Club of Owen Sound, Ontario was envisioned and founded in 1920 by like-minded sportsmen as a viable way to bind interests, commitments and the continuance of minor sports teams in the community. Historically a not-for-profit men's organization with the aim to support local athletic teams. Today the club functions in much the same way it was originally fashioned. A place for members to meet and greet in the club rooms for drinks, camaraderie and some gifted gab. Club banquets and sports events like golf, darts and curling tournaments generate proceeds to help keep the club running and to raise donation funds for minor sports teams in Owen Sound when it is possible to do so. 2022 was a historic year as the Crescent Athletic Club celebrated 102 years.
