Owen Sound Minor Hockey is incredibly proud to celebrate
River Emonts, who has been recognized by the
Ontario Minor Hockey Association as
Rookie Volunteer of the Month! This award, part of OMHA’s Volunteer of the Month program presented by Nothers, highlights volunteers
making a difference in minor hockey.
At just 17 years old, River is a dedicated volunteer in Owen Sound Minor Hockey’s Learn to Play program, which helps kids with special needs and new-to-hockey players develop basic skills in a fun and supportive environment. Inspired by her younger brother’s love for hockey, River became an on-ice leader when the program launched. Today, she helps design and execute practice plans while creating an inclusive space where all players can thrive.
River’s passion for hockey and her commitment to making the game accessible for everyone is truly inspiring. She believes every child deserves the chance to experience the joy of being part of a team, and her efforts have made a lasting impact on our hockey community.
Congratulations, River, on this well-deserved recognition!
